The mission of the RB Foundation is to provide families with financial assistance during unforeseen difficult times. The Foundation strives to empower the community by setting the examples of community, kindness, and philanthropy, with a strong emphasis on character development.
Harnessing the passion of athletes and passing it on in the game of life.
How it Began
After watching so many members of the RB hockey community struggle with financial crises brought on by the loss of a parent or child, diagnosis of a severe medical condition, job loss or other dire circumstance, Rob and Chrissy Barletta felt compelled to take action.  They started the RB Foundation.
It quickly became apparent that this generosity was having a major positive impact in the local community. Chrissy and Rob still saw so many needs in their local community and beyond. So they decided to extend their generosity and assistance beyond the local hockey community.
Originally the foundation focused its charitable efforts on local hockey families in need of assistance. They provided grants, gift cards, hockey scholarships and equipment, secret Santa sponsorships, and ¬†financial assistance for costly medical bills. The Barletta’s wanted to ensure that a family in crisis did not prevent their child from playing hockey.¬† They felt it was vital to the player’s development as an athlete as well as their own personal character development.¬† Rob and Chrissy made every effort to ensure every player had new, safe equipment and tuition for their programs.
Today the RB foundation’s efforts reach every corner of the local community in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.¬† ¬†In fact 75% of their funds are donated outside of their rink. They have touched so many lives with their generosity. ¬†With the hopes these people in turn will help someone else someday.

The foundation has reached an even broader population by raising and donating more than $25,000 to the Avon Foundation for breast cancer awareness and research.¬† They did this by hosting two annual events, the AOK Women’s Hockey Tournament and the Walpole Express Junior Hockey Pink Game.
The RB foundation always relied on private and corporate donations and it was never enough.  So they started the annual Off- Ice gala to raise the additional funds needed to reach out to more of the community in need.
