Welcome to the RB Foundation
At first, the foundation focused its charitable efforts strictly on local hockey families in need, providing grants, gift cards, hockey scholarships, Secret Santa sponsorships and other forms of financial assistance. The Barletta's wanted to make sure that a family’s financial crisis did not prevent a child from playing hockey, which they felt was vital to the player’s development as an athlete and a person of character. So Rob and Chrissy made every effort to ensure the player had new, safe equipment and tuition for their programs. Word got out about the Barletta’s generosity and it soon became apparent that the RB Foundation was having a positive and noticeable impact in the community. But no matter how much they did, Rob and Chrissy still saw need wherever they turned. So they decided to extend their offer of assistance beyond the local hockey community.
Today, the RB Foundation’s efforts reach every corner of the local community. For instance, if the Barletta's learn of a friend of a friend who is struggling – someone unconnected to the sport of hockey – they still extend an offer of assistance. Since 2003, the foundation has dispersed over $100,000 to families in need. And the foundation helps the broader population as well. In addition to helping individual families, the RB Foundation has raised and donated more than $25,000 to the Avon Foundation for breast cancer awareness and research, funds generated through two of the RB Foundation’s annual events, AOK Women's Hockey Tournament and the Walpole Express Junior Hockey Pink Game. These donations have helped many 3-Day teams meet their fundraising goals without additional contributions. In order to continue these charitable works, the RB Foundation needs your help. Up until now the RB Foundation has relied solely on private and corporate donations without any fundraising efforts. But the need out there far outstrips the foundation’s limited resources. Think about it: there are more than 1,000 families just within the RB Hockey organization – many that are facing financial hardships. But you can help ease the pain of another. By making a tax-deductible financial contribution to the RB Foundation, or purchasing tickets for any of our upcoming events, you can enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you’ve touched another family in the most positive way. Proceeds contributed to the RB Foundation go directly to community support. |
